Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

Short version: we collect very little, we track nothing, we sell nothing. Here’s the long version, which is also short.

What we collect

  • Email address — used only for authentication. It is never displayed anywhere on the service.
  • Username — public, attached to everything you do.
  • Content you post — posts, comments, ratings, shares.
  • Social graph actions — who you follow, block, and mute.
  • Standard server logs— IP addresses and request data, the kind every web server records, used for keeping the service running and debugging it when it isn’t.

That’s the list. We don’t collect your contacts, your location, your browsing history, or anything else we didn’t mention.

Where it lives

Authentication is handled by Supabase. Your data is stored in the United States on Supabase and Cloudflare infrastructure. If you sign in with Google, Google shares only your email address with us — nothing else from your Google account.

Cookies and tracking

We use exactly one kind of cookie: the one that keeps you logged in. Zero tracking cookies. Zero analytics trackers. Zero ads. We never sell your data — there’s no analytics dashboard to feed and no advertiser to feed it to.

Who can see your stuff

Your content is public. Anyone can see it, including people who aren’t logged in and search engines that index the web. If you rate something, that rating is public too. Assume everything you do on RateShare is visible to the entire internet, because it is.

Deleting things

You can delete your own posts in-app anytime. Deleted posts become tombstones — the content is removed, but the thread structure survives, so replies to your deleted post don’t get orphaned. People will know something was there. They won’t know what.

For full account deletion, message @TJ on RateShare. Within 30 days we’ll remove your profile and de-attribute your content.

Age

RateShare is for people 13 and older. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone younger. If we learn we have, we’ll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll announce it in-app before it takes effect.
